Pre-production

A round base is not the product.

The VIB-300 is a pre-production teaching platform: a rigid plate bolted to a flexible base. It is not a qualified industrial isolator. The cable notch was inferred and still needs verification. No vibration percentage is advertised until it is measured on a named machine.

Confirm the machine before the disk

The six-hole pattern is generic. Measure weight, footprint, bolt circle, bolt diameter, center of gravity, cable position, and the vibration source. Print coupons first: a PETG strength square, a TPU damping square, a partial hole pattern, a notch sample, and a fit gauge from Ø6.4 to Ø7.0 mm.

First instructional acceptance is wider than the drawing’s general ±0.5 mm: diameter ±1.0 mm, thickness ±0.5 mm, hole centers ±0.5 mm, flatness 1.0 mm, every bolt passing without force, no visible layer split. Record that as an engineering adjustment.

Direct cost, still a guess

The slicer has to replace these weights. Hardware $6, power $4, packaging $8, failure allowance $12, and machine allocation $35 stay as the worked example.

The plan’s first-run band is about $110 to $190. A standard kit was sketched at $225–$300, a custom bolt pattern at $350–$500. Those are prices to test, not a forecast. One mount will not fund an academy.

Print three bases: 12–15%, 20%, and 30% gyroid.

Compare the machine on the bare table, on PETG only, and on each base. Record RMS, peak, the dominant frequency, noise, and whether it walks. Reduction is (without − with) / without. Do not print the percentage on a label until that measurement exists for the payload.

What the academy can actually sell

Measure the customer’s equipment, change the CAD, print the pair, test it, and hand over an inspection sheet. A student royalty on a variant that is adopted needs a written agreement covering ownership, manufacturing rights, returns, taxes, and when they are paid. Encouragement is not a contract.
